Intentional—This word has jumped out at us after hearing Sheri Dew on the Magnify podcast this week and after revisiting her landmark talk from 1999, We are Women of God. We need to “get better at an active, intentional faith,” Sheri explains.
Intention=purposeful action. Our efforts to serve, be happy, stand as women of faith, lead and teach in our homes, all make a bigger impact on our lives and those around us when we do them with faithful intention.
As we start down new paths, take a necessary pause, or usher our loved ones on their various adventures, it’s natural to worry about what could go wrong, or even long for things to stay the same amidst inevitable change. This is when lean into the Savior and the strength that comes from our covenants. Because of Him, we overcome unease and move ahead with gratitude for what has been and peace about whatever the future holds.
Life can sometimes feel like a juggling act. When we re-center on the Savior, everything falls into place.
“As members of the Relief Society, we are blessed to be the conduit through which Jesus Christ brings His relief. I don’t have to solve every problem. And neither do you. That is not our work. Our work and privilege are to bring the relief of Jesus Christ to others, and in doing so we find our own relief in Him.”

Here are two small things to bring a little joy to our hearts today.
Joy in mini miracles: Okay, maybe no miracle is mini—but let’s just call an abundance of sunflowers a mini miracle that God put exactly in our path to brighten our day. Let’s look at the phone in our hand as a mini miracle that allows us to access the scriptures in seconds. Let’s look at our child, spouse, friend, and think of all the mini miracles that led them to being in our life at exactly this moment. God is a God of miracles! How joyful is that?!
Joy from mini moments of goodness: The world is full of snapshots of goodness to bring our hearts joy and make us smile—when we choose to see it that way. The cute baby peeking over her mother’s shoulder while we're waiting in line, the happy dog leaning his head out the car window, neighborhood kids outside riding bikes together. We can use goodness to frame our perspective and help us find more joy.
